Meet IGC’s New Chief Investment Officer: Brian Ford

We are excited to welcome Brian Ford as Chief Investment Officer at Impact Growth Capital. With a sharp eye for innovation and a deep commitment to affordable housing, Brian brings decades of experience to IGC's leadership team.

Brian Ford is the Chief Investment Officer of Impact Growth Capital, a role he assumed in June 2025. With over two decades of experience across investment banking, trading, business business development, and investment management, Brian has consistently operated at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and capital formation.
Brian began his investment management career as a trader at UBS Investment Bank, later transitioning into proprietary trading at HSBC. In 2007, he attended Harvard Business School, where he concentrated on entrepreneurial finance and spent his summer at Lehman Brothers, witnessing firsthand the dramatic collapse of the firm during the global financial crisis.
Emerging from the disruption, Brian pivoted to the buy-side in 2009, joining Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (now part of KKR Prisma) and later advancing his career at PIMCO as an Account Manager. Over the next decade, he focused on the alternative asset class, managing senior roles at TCW, Atalaya Capital Management (now Blue Owl), and Benefit Street Partners, specializing in business development, capital raising, and strategic operations.
To date, Brian has raised over $2 billion in capital, primarily across alternative investment strategies. He has built and led growth platforms, launched ventures focused on alternative and digital assets, and played key roles in firm formation, acquisitions, and portfolio strategy.
As CIO of Impact Growth Capital, Brian leads strategic development, investment oversight, and the evolution of innovative asset structures. He is deeply focused on scalable, forward-thinking investment solutions with impact and sustainability at the core.
Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University where he played Varsity Football and was a member of the 1999 Ivy League Champion Yale Bulldogs team. Brian also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
